Susan Cole
President
Ms Cole is a professional engineer with over 20 years of experience in the energy industry, most recently as Team Lead, Athabasca Oil Business Unit at EnCana which focused on waterflooding and polymer flooding of the Pelican Lake heavy oil pool. Prior to the merger that created EnCana, Ms Cole was Manager of the Weyburn CO2 Project at PanCanadian during the negotiation phase through to initial approval and on to facility construction and start-up.
In her earlier career Ms Cole held various roles with Norcen Energy and PanCanadian including reservoir engineering, oil and gas marketing, A&D and corporate planning. She holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree and a MBA from the University of Calgary.
Farid Remtulla
Vice President, Engineering
Farid Remtulla is a petroleum engineer with 24 years of extensive oil industry experience in operations, production and development. Mr. Remtulla graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Chemical Engineering Degree from the University of Calgary.
Mr. Remtulla was Group Lead with EnCana where he designed the largest heavy oil waterflood in the world with 1.4 billion barrels of original oil in place, exclusively utilizing horizontal wells. Subsequently, Mr Remtulla initiated the successful pilot development and implementation of field wide polymer flooding operations.
Mr Remtulla has been a specialist in Enhanced Oil Recovery over the last 10 years with Conoco-Phillips, Gulf Canada Resources, Crestar Energy and Imperial Oil Resources.
Tim Veenstra
Vice President, Operations
Tim Veenstra is a professional engineer with over 20 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry within the Western Canadian Basin. His engineering experience covers oilfield operations, drilling/completions, business development and start-up exploration and petroleum companies.
Most recently, Mr. Veenstra held the position of President and CEO at Annex Petroleum Inc., a private company which he founded in 2005, and Vice President Engineering at Race Rocks Resources Ltd., of which he co-founded in 2002. As principal of Veenstar Engineering, he has acted as an independent consultant for several major and junior oil and gas entities.
Prior to, Mr. Veenstra held various roles in engineering, business development and marketing for Alberta Energy Corporation, Stellarton Energy Corporation, Ulster Petroleum Limited, Sceptre Resources Limited and others.
Mr. Veenstra holds a Bachelor of Science, Petroleum Engineering degree from the University of Alberta.
D.W. (Dan) Long
Vice President, Business Development
Mr. Long is a professional engineer with 25 years experience in the energy industry, spanning engineering, gas marketing, and business development roles. Most recently, Mr. Long was employed with TAQA North (a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi based TAQA Energy) as Vice President, Corporate Development and Marketing. Mr. Long has been involved in transactions totaling over $7.0 billion during his career with the majority of transaction based in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Mr. Long is a member of APEGGA as well as industry groups related to the acquisition and divestment community in Calgary.
As well as TAQA North, Mr. Long has been employed by Amoco Canada, Canadian Occidental (International), Fletcher Challenge Energy, and Northrock Resources in various engineering, gas marketing, international business development, and corporate planning positions.
